چکیده
A two-stage study was carried out to test the mechanism of arginase in ammonia detoxification yellow catfish. At stage 1, fish injected lethal half concentration ammonium acetate and 0.9% sodium chloride respectively every 12 h six replicates for 72 h. The result found that no significant different serum contents group at hours 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 72. 2, split two, one continued with (NH3 group) other valine (an inhibitor arginase; Val group); Sodium also (NaCl + group). experiment Serum liver arginine were higher than those NH3 group; Compared NaCl group, activity ARG 1 expression lower; Fish groups had lowest superoxide dismutase activities, malondialdehyde, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin 8 contents, TNF-α, IL-1 IL-8 expressions groups, lysozyme complement 3 4 contents. This indicates poisoning would lead oxidative damage, immunosuppression inflammation catfish; Arginase may be an important target toxicity Exogenous supplementation might alleviate symptoms

Heritable Targeted Inactivation of Myostatin Gene in Yellow Catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) Using Engineered Zinc Finger Nucleases
Yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) is one of the most important freshwater aquaculture species in China. However, its small size and lower meat yield limit its edible value. Myostatin (MSTN) is a negative regulator of mammalian muscle growth. But, the function of Mstn in fish remains elusive. To explore roles of mstn gene in fish growth and create a strain of yellow catfish with high amou...

Body colours are important and striking features for individual survival and reproductive success, in particular in vertebrates where mating behaviour and mate preference may be strongly influenced by non-normal phenotypes. Pigmentation disorders may be generated by disruption of one or many independent genes as well as by environmental factors. The first discovery of albino yellow catfish (Pel...

The influence of insulin on hepatic metabolism in fish is not well understood. The present study was therefore conducted to investigate the effects of insulin on lipid metabolism, and the related signaling pathways, in the yellow catfish Pelteobagrus fulvidraco. Hepatic lipid and intracellular triglyceride (TG) content, the activity and expression levels of several enzymes and the mRNA expressi...
متن کاملChemotactic Activity of Cyclophilin A in the Skin Mucus of Yellow Catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) and Its Active Site for Chemotaxis
Fish skin mucus is a dynamic barrier for invading pathogens with a variety of anti-microbial enzymes, including cyclophilin A (CypA), a multi-functional protein with peptidyl-prolyl cis/trans isomerase (PPIase) activity. Beside various other immunological functions, CypA induces leucocytes migration in vitro in teleost. In the current study, we have discovered several novel immune-relevant prot...

An 8-week feeding trial was carried out with juvenile yellow catfish to study the effects of dietary available phosphorus (P) on growth performance, body composition, and hepatic antioxidant property. Six pellet diets were formulated to contain graded available P levels at 0.33, 0.56, 0.81, 1.15, 1.31, and 1.57% of dry matter, respectively. Triplicate tanks with each tank containing 60 juvenile...
